How To Design Your Tattoo

If you want to create your own custom tattoo design, make sure you've got a great tattoo artist to work with. 

Even with a simple design, such as a Christian cross, you may not find anything that really works for you.

So, designing your own image is a really personal way to create a design that will work for you and have real meaning.

It's fine to come up with your own design, whether it's something completely unique or a combination of some designs that you've seen and liked.

Many of the online tattoo design sites aren't particularly good, you'd probably be better to sketch something out and take it to a good artist who can work with it to create something you like.

Do take along designs and styles that you really like when going to the tatoo parlor, so that the artist can see the kinds of design and color that you like, to help in creating your own particular style. 

Not sure where to find designs for inspiration ?    Why not go to Google images and type in the type of designs, e.g. "seahorse tattoo" and see if any of the images there are close to the kind of style that you want.  Of course, if you're looking for anything with a particularly influence, such as fantasy, old school, tribal or japanese, be sure to type this in too, as there's literally hundreds of thousands of images on Google and this'll help to hone in on the kinds of images you're looking for.

If you really can't draw, then print off designs that are like those you want, and explain what you'd like different, or how you'd like more than one design to be combined together, e.g. heart and flowers.
